Convey, an Austin-based shipping and delivery software startup, has closed an $8.25 million Series B funding round, the company announced Tuesday.
The round was led by Techstars Venture Capital Fund, with participation from RPM Ventures and other investors. Techstars was also part of Convey’s $4.5 million Series A in June 2016, along with Silverton Partners, Capital Factory and Corsa Ventures.
This new funding round brings Convey’s venture capital funding to $15.7 million since its launch in 2013.
The company is led by co-founder and CEO Rob Taylor and co-founder Dan Bebout. Taylor is a mentor at Techstars and Capital Factory, and he previously led Austin’s BlackLocus through its acquisition in 2012 by Home Depot. Bebout launched Convey, then known as Pivot Freight, in Phoenix, and moved the company to Austin to participate in the Techstars Austin accelerator. The company relocated to Austin after that.
The company is hiring software engineers, sales people and designers for six open job titles, including a couple that have multiple openings.
