Leadership Team

Rob Taylor

Rob Taylor, Company Builder

Rob brings two decades of entrepreneurial and founding leadership experience from building numerous successful venture and IPO-funded startups. Most recently, Rob was the President of BlackLocus, a SaaS software company providing competitive price intelligence to large retailers and which was acquired by The Home Depot in late 2012. Prior to BlackLocus, Rob was the EVP & GM of TrueCar (Nasdaq: TRUE), the leading negotiation-free car buying and selling platform, where Rob built the consumer direct business from the ground up.  TrueCar completed its IPO in mid-2014.

Rob is our company builder – architecting the team, customer acquisition and relationships, raising capital and ensuring we are focused and delivering on the highest value capabilities for our customers.

Rob’s passions are his family, wife Renee and toddler sons Jack and Grant, and road cycling in Texas Hill Country.

Matt Howitt

Matt Howitt, VP Product

Matt Howitt has more than 15 years of experience as an executive at growing technology companies. Before joining the Convey team, Matt was the senior vice president of product for RetailMeNot, Inc. (NASDAQ: SALE), where he set the product vision and strategy for the company’s flagship U.S. brand and oversaw the company’s product roadmap and execution. Matt’s previous experience includes executive positions at Lombardi Software, MessageOne and Trilogy/ Matt, his wife Melissa and their two daughters are long-time residents of Austin. Matt is an avid sports fan, and the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots are his main rooting interests. Go Sox!

Dan Bebout

Dan Bebout, Customer Experience

Dan brings a decade of experience in successfully growing manufacturing and logistics companies. Most recently, Dan founded Convey with the experience and knowledge gained from years in procurement, pricing and supply chain. Prior, he co-founded a residential concrete company using lean processes that saw rapid growth and expansion in its first year.

Dan is our industry liaison, building strong relationships and delivering an exceptional experience to every customer.

Dan enjoys new experiences usually involving his wife Jenny, craft beer, artisanal coffee and BBQ meats.

Chris Richter

Chris Richter, VP Revenue

Chris is a veteran enterprise software entrepreneur and business development executive. Having been involved with startup technology companies since 1996, Chris has spent the past 15 years as a sales leader and new technology evangelist for highly successful companies including Bazaarvoice, BlackLocus, and Webify Solutions. He was also the Founding CEO for Socialware, which has become the leading provider of Social Media Compliance solutions. Most recently Chris spent the past three years building the sales practice at Austin based Edgecase including developing client relationships with nearly 30 of the most prestigious and accomplished brands in eCommerce.

Chris has a passion for bringing new and innovative technologies to market with leading brands across many verticals with a primary focus on SaaS solutions enabling retailers and direct to consumer brands to compete and win in the rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape. He has a proven track record of building sales and business development teams that guide clients to achieve thought leadership and sustained competitive advantage. As VP of Revenue at Convey, Chris is responsible for developing a team and executing on all aspects of the customer lifecycle including demand generation, client acquisition and expansion of client partnerships.

Olivier Modica

Olivier Modica, VP Engineering/CTO

Olivier has over 15 years of proven track record in turning software developers into high performance teams, successfully running revenue-generating SaaS software, and delivering cutting-edge products on time and with high quality. Prior to Convey, Olivier worked at Vast as VP of Engineering where he led engineering, operations and security across all geographies and all product lines. Before Vast, Olivier held technical leadership roles at IBM, Lombardi (acquired by IBM) and Intalio.

Olivier is responsible for building the team, technology and infrastructure to deliver Convey’s vision and value to our customers.

Outside of work Olivier stays busy bringing up his four children with his wonderful wife Nicole, following Formula 1 and world politics and staying in shape.

Jenny Bebout

Jenny Bebout, Head of User Experience

Jenny has over ten years of digital experience working in highly creative advertising agencies, complex corporations, and fast-paced startups. She has done everything from strategic marketing to product building and delighted customers the entire way.

Jenny manages the Convey software and is constantly thinking about how to deliver the very best customer experience and define the product vision and strategy.

Other than her passion for technology, she loves going on adventures with her husband Dan, paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake and finding the best happy hours in Austin.

Carson Krieg

Carson Krieg, Data Scientist

Carson began his career in the freight industry working for a large brokerage owning various managerial and special project roles. Most recently, Carson has managed RFP’s and consulted for the largest 3PL companies in the industry gaining valuable insights into pricing and carrier dynamics. Carson used the opportunity to leverage his experience and carrier relationships to influence the freight industry.

Carson is our data scientist – leveraging negotiation experience and carrier pricing knowledge to position mid-market companies competitively.

Carson enjoys traveling and outdoor sports as well as spending time in Phoenix with his 5 nieces and nephew.


Bill Kennedy

Bill Kennedy

Bill applies lessons learned from over three decades of software, technology, team-building, and business experiences in his role as an advisor to the company. Bill has founded and/or lead several companies to successful acquisitions across a variety of domains and business models - from Enterprise to Consumer markets, delivering Products and/or Services, across domains from IT to entertainment/leisure. Bill continues to enjoy the process of learning and innovating through his relationships with some of the country’s most talented entrepreneurs in his roles as mentor, advisor, and board member.

Bill is the company advisor on matters including strategy, team building, market validation, and operational planning.

Bill relishes the people his two grown children have become and continues unsuccessfully to find a beach or a ski slope that he and his wife, Jamee, of 34 years don’t enjoy together.
