As Convey continues to grow and expand its team, I’m thrilled to announce that Lynn Atchison has signed on as the newest member of our Board of Directors.
Lynn is a tech industry powerhouse whose past positions include CFO of Spredfast, Vice Chair/Board Member of the Austin Technology Council, CFO of HomeAway and CFO of Hoovers, among others.
Among her countless impressive achievements, Lynn was the CFO at HomeAway for nearly a decade, where she guided the company through its $248 million initial public offering and helped grow revenue from $10 million to $500 million before the company was acquired by Expedia Inc. in 2015.
As it relates to the Austin startup scene today, Lynn wants to ensure sustainable growth and places emphasis on securing later stage investment to support that aim. It’s that perspective and expertise I’m so excited about bringing to bear at Convey, because if we can be a $10 million revenue company, why not $100 million or more?
I recently sat down with Lynn to learn a little more about why she’s so excited about working with Convey. Here’s what she had to say:
“I’m always excited about a business whose products or services respond to shifting trends and behaviors in a new or different way. Not just by building a better mousetrap, but by questioning if a “mousetrap” is actually the right solution at all.
HomeAway and Spredfast are great examples of companies that redefined existing markets (hospitality >> vacation rentals; traditional advertising >> social media marketing) to ultimately become leaders in their respective categories. Solving the customer experience problem in e-commerce is an equally challenging and exciting opportunity, and when it comes to redefining a market category, I’d put Convey’s potential right up there alongside them.
Of course, I’m also thrilled to work with a team of talented people. It’s clear to see how seriously you take the work that you do at Convey, and also how much you enjoy and have fun doing it.
Convey has impressive big-name customers, industry partners, stockholders & board members – all of which make me excited to join the team.
It’s not every company that makes the successful transition from early stage startup to growth and scale. My goal is to help the business leverage its assets reaching full potential and to knock it out of the park in doing so!
It’s an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to get started :)”
